Subtitles that just work
Search OpenSubtitles from inside the player, or import a file from your phone. Nudge the timing if it’s early or late. Then set the size and position once, and every video uses them.
VIEW is a video and music player built on the VLC engine, wrapped in frosted glass. Open any file, find its subtitles, cast it to your TV. Your library never leaves your phone.
01 — The player
The player comes with the VLC engine and one clean screen. Every button can be moved, hidden or swapped to suit the way you watch.
Search OpenSubtitles from inside the player, or import a file from your phone. Nudge the timing if it’s early or late. Then set the size and position once, and every video uses them.
Drag any button to another bar. The one already there moves to its old spot.
Where you stopped, and each video’s own speed, audio track and subtitles.
Cast to Chromecast or Android TV. Keep watching in a pop-up window, or keep listening in the background.
See a picture of the scene as you drag through a video, and let it stop by itself when you drift off.
Best fit, fill, stretch, 16:9, 4:3 or pinch to zoom. There’s a lock for little hands, and an orientation button that turns with you, or doesn’t.
02 — More than a player
Music, network drives, phone-to-computer transfers and a set of web tools, all in the same glass style.
Switch the home page to Music: songs, albums, artists, folders and playlists, with lyrics that follow the song line by line.
Play straight from your computer or storage drive over SMB, FTP, SFTP, WebDAV or NFS. No copying needed.
Scan a QR code on your computer and move videos between it and your phone over your own Wi-Fi. No cable, no cloud.
Paste a video link or a live stream and watch it right away.
A tabbed browser with bookmarks and history. It blocks ad servers on websites, with ad lists you choose.
A download manager that keeps going in the background, and a torrent client for files you have the right to share.
03 — Make it yours
Choose a colour and all of VIEW changes with it: the glowing background, the glass, the buttons, even the icon on your home screen. Try it here, this page follows along.

04 — Privacy
VIEW has no servers and no account. It contains no ad or analytics code, and nothing about you is ever sent to us. The online features talk directly to the service you use, and only when you use them.
05 — Questions
Yes. It has no ads, no subscriptions and no paid features.
Android 8.0 or newer, on 64-bit phones, which covers almost every phone sold in recent years.
Newer versions of Android only let apps see subtitle files in folders you allow. Go to Settings › Subtitles › Allow a folder and pick the folder with your videos. Any subtitle file in it will then show up in the player’s Import tab.
No. You can search and download a few subtitles a day without one. A free OpenSubtitles account raises the daily limit, and you can connect it in Settings › Subtitles.
Open Settings › Send feedback. Your message goes out through your own email app, and you choose whether to attach a diagnostic log. You can also write to wargxp@gmail.com.
